Most engine problems can be avoided by taking simple precautions, & you don’t need a detailed mechanical knowledge. This course teaches you how your engine works, how to keep it healthy by using basic checks & maintenance procedures, & how to get it started again in the event of a breakdown.

It is of interest to students who want to have a wider appreciation of basic marine diesel mechanics and electrics, with an understanding of the chief engineer’s responsibilities. We offer all of our training courses on board your own boat (jet ski, power boat, sail boat or motor boat). The price for training on your own boat is PER DAY and not PER PERSON. Often it is possible to have a number of people training on your boat (family/friends) and you therefore split the cost of the training between you.

The aim of the course is to teach students to use small boat radar to assist decision making in navigation, pilotage & collision avoidance. This 1 day course is popular on both sailing & motor boats, It is a valuable aid for navigation & collision avoidance. A radar is only useful in the hands of a knowledgeable operator.

RYA Powerboat Level 1

This course is an introduction to boating techniques for launching and recovering a boat from a road trailer, everyday boat handling and the use of safety equipment. It can either be taken as a stand-alone course or integrated into the two-day Level 2 course.
