I recently completed the Yachtmaster Offshore prep course with Palma Sailing School and had an excellent experience. The biggest strengths of the course were the expert coaching and the practical focus—there was a huge emphasis on getting hands-on and actually doing the key skills repeatedly, rather than just talking about them.
Following best practice demonstrations, we had plenty of opportunities to practise boat handling, manoeuvres, navigation, safety drills, and real exam scenarios in a structured way. Each exercise was followed by clear, detailed feedback, which made a big difference. The instructor was very observant and gave specific, actionable advice that helped me improve quickly and build confidence.
The teaching style was calm, supportive, and highly focused on what actually matters for the exam and real-world sailing. Any weak areas were identified early and worked on until they became strengths.
I went into the exam feeling fully prepared and came away with a strong pass. Highly recommend for anyone serious about passing their Yachtmaster Offshore.
