Course description
This five day Competent Crew course for beginners and those who would like to become active crew members rather than just passengers. Virtually all the course is hands on. You are the crew – without you the sails won’t go up and the boat won’t be steered.
Course content
By the end of the Competent Crew course you will have learnt Knowledge of sea terms and parts of a boat, her rigging and sails, how to handle sails, rope work, fire precautions and fighting, personal safety equip, man overboard, emergency equip, manners and customs, rules of the road, dinghies, meteorology, seasickness, sailing and day to day general duties on board.
The course is residential/live aboard. To guarantee your own cabin for the duration of your training course there is an additional charge of 300€pp. If you choose not to guarantee your own cabin you may be allocated a saloon berth. If you are making a booking for two people and are happy to share a cabin with each other you do not need to pay an additional fee
If you are a group you can book the entire boat privately just for yourselves! Up to 5 students per course. Please enquire for more information.
